Abstract:

Five scenes of various places in Paris during the Commune, some showing barricades and soldiers. Scenes include: 1. Ruins of Palais des Tuileries, destroyed by fire spring 1871, looking northeast from Jardin des Tuileries; 2. L'Église de la Madeleine in the distance, looking along rue Royale north from Place de la Concorde; 3. Looking northwest along north side of Place de la Concorde from west end of rue de Rivoli; 4. Looking northeast along rue de Rivoli from corner of rue de Luxembourg (now rue Castiglione); 5. Looking north along rue de Luxembourg (now rue Castiglione) toward place Vendôme, cross street in foreground is rue du Mont-Thabor.
